My husband has been staying at the Saint-Joseph Residence in Plouha for a year now. He feels very comfortable there; the staff is lovely, and the administrative team is very attentive. The premises are also very pleasant and well-maintained. The easily accessible garden is a haven of peace and a place to meet people in the summer. Various activities are offered in the winter. My mother has been a resident in this nursing home for several years; the diversity and quality of the activities, the attention given to each resident, and the constant dialogue between staff and families contribute to the excellent atmosphere that prevails in this establishment.

An Avoidable Tragedy – Be Extremely Vigilant What happened here cannot be ignored. A person very dear to me saw their health deteriorate rapidly in this facility, amidst complete indifference. We called regularly, asking for updates—but no one ever alerted us to their condition. We had to wait until they could no longer speak, drink, eat, or even stand before anyone finally bothered to inform us. And even then, they refused hospitalization, claiming that a protocol had to be followed. Meanwhile, their body was failing. When they were finally transferred—far too late—the situation was critical. Very quickly, their vital functions were compromised. They had been neglected for far too long, day after day. Unable to hydrate or eat, their organs slowly ceased to function, one after another. It was a long, drawn-out agony. One that should have been prevented. The body finally gave out. This person died because they were left to die. Whether through bureaucracy, incompetence, or negligence—I don't know. But one thing is certain: this person did not receive the care or the minimum attention a human being has a right to expect. Don't be fooled by the five-star rating. Be present, demanding, and suspicious. And above all: never wait for them to inform you. If you cannot keep the person you love at home, visit them. Regularly. Often. Even when you are tired. Even when you can't. At the risk that one day the sun will rise... but there will be no tomorrow.

My mother lived at the St. Joseph nursing home in Plouha for almost seven years. She passed away there on January 26th. During those years, she received the best care. She considered the food excellent. The staff is friendly and respectful!

I know it very well. The food is plentiful. The staff is friendly. It's a great place to relax when you want to avoid loneliness and you're getting older.
