Accommodation facility for dependent and independent elderly people...it's an eyesore

The phone contact regarding my application via Trajectoire was beyond deplorable, cold, and devoid of empathy. I was told my application had been cancelled?! But I had just checked it, I gave them the Trajectoire reference number... and they found it! Basically, since November, when I submitted my application, my file had been forgotten, and they offered a solution today before practically hanging up on me... "There's nothing I can do for you..." Of course, I understand how difficult it is to find an available place, but a little courtesy would have been appreciated!

My mother is in this hospital, and I'm so happy to have found a place for her. The building is very nice, always very clean, the staff is wonderful, and there are lots of activities. Having had the opportunity to visit other facilities with my dad, uncle, and aunt, I'm delighted with Reignier Hospital.

My father, then my aunt, and finally my mother all stayed at this nursing home. The staff is wonderful, and I'm so grateful for the care they received. I was able to be with my mother until her very last breath, feeling peaceful and welcome. Well done to the entire team.

Today I am convinced that it's not the walls that create the care. Having had a similar experience in another facility, I can confirm that white walls did not provide any comfort in terms of care or support; rather, they caused suffering, not to mention mistreatment. Whereas, despite the outdated facilities, the staff is extremely kind, even during repeated lockdowns. The welcome was wonderful (I met the manager, the doctor, the nurses, the caregivers, the psychologist, the occupational therapist, and even the maintenance worker). They also have physiotherapists, occupational therapists, neuropsychologists, three activity coordinators, and I'm surely forgetting some. In this nursing home, everything has been designed so that elderly residents can go outside for fresh air. There are always people in the hallways offering assistance. For my part, our mother is thriving again and has rediscovered meaning in life's simple pleasures because she has found the help she needed. Nothing is perfect anywhere, but for a facility considered outdated, as one often hears, the focus is on support services rather than the interior aesthetics of the premises. This is entirely to their credit. Furthermore, the new premises are currently under construction. May they continue in this way!
