USLD Hôpital du Vallon Centre hospitalier de Martigues à MARTIGUES

My mother was hospitalized for two and a half months at the Vallon rehabilitation center in Martigues following a hip fracture. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We felt there was a lack of coordination between the surgeon and the rehabilitation center. The surgeon had indicated that she could only be discharged once she was able to walk at least 200 steps. However, shortly after her return to the center, the discharge process began even though she was not walking independently. Today, she is back home, but she cannot get around on her own, which puts us in a very difficult situation and forces us to look for another facility to properly continue her rehabilitation. Communication with some of the doctors was also complicated, which reinforced our confusion and concern about the decisions made. We are deeply disappointed with the care we received and find it regrettable that an elderly person can return home without being truly ready. We had hoped for more tailored and secure support.

I was admitted to this hospital without my consent. I was placed in isolation without any explanation as to why I was there. The staff were dismissive and unfriendly. They left me in my pajamas for 18 days. Thank goodness I was transferred. This hospital is truly dilapidated and leaves much to be desired. The chemical and physical restraint I endured was a real nightmare.

24 hour secretary, very incompetent, speaks aggressively to families and leaves us waiting for more than 30 minutes. It's shameful.

The staff did not seem competent to me, meals served cold and tasteless, once the meal was served 10 minutes later they came to collect the tray. The staff entered the rooms without knocking and the condition of the room was very damaged.

My mother was hospitalized for 16 days. I must say the staff was absolutely wonderful. Very kind, professional, and always had a kind word for our mother. Mrs. Brutto. The whole team, well done! Thank you so much.
