If I could add more +++ to the 5 stars I wouldn't hesitate. My mother only stayed for a few months but she was able to appreciate the friendliness, their little attentions, their listening to the well-being of the residents and their family. Thank you for everything you do, this is not the case everywhere.

Hello,
Like all places of this kind, the atmosphere is oppressive upon arrival. Why does this facility for dependent elderly people always have this hospital-like feel? They sell you on the beautiful old mansion, but only the kitchens and reception room are actually there. And it's not in this building that the "residents" can go. Furthermore, if no one from their family or friends comes to visit a resident and they have reduced mobility, they won't be taken for a walk by the staff. Never, just like with other activities. You'll be put with the quietest residents in front of a television screen, in a sort of corridor-like room.
There's a lot to say about this slot machine that belongs to the Deboishue family. A curious model where the director is the family heir. A director who doesn't bother to introduce himself to the residents and their families. It's as if he's forgotten why he's there, who this place he manages exists for. My father spent his time in the facility confined to a bed with bars. He only got out if we insisted he be helped into a wheelchair.
Upon arrival, we were made to fill out forms about my father's habits and wishes, which were completely ignored. Even more distressing was finding myself, my mother, his faithful and loving partner and caregiver for 62 years, and me with the head nurse, who addressed her, saying that they listen to the patient rather than their family. Such tact from this person towards my mother, especially when we discovered that she had based the discussion on reviewing another patient's medical file.
Everything I'm writing is true. There's this feeling, this reality: you're even made to sign a commitment to stay there to die, not to live. The place is probably not the worst of the nursing homes, but it does participate in this organization of dependency instead of aiming for dignity in autonomy, however minimal it may be.
My mother passed away there on May 31st, after spending seven and a half years in the secure unit.
This facility isn't perfect, but I'd be curious to visit one that is.
Nevertheless, the staff is generally helpful, caring, and competent.
Of course, there have been some hiccups, but I think that's inevitable over such a long period.
In particular, the staff's dedication and the management's handling of the situation during the Covid period deserve special mention, as does the excellent performance of the Maison Russe afterward.
Nicolas de Boishue and Dr. Benady were always charming to my mother and me and always showed empathy.
Compared to the nursing home where she was before, it's like night and day, in terms of management, I mean, because the staff there were also very dedicated. It's a non-profit organization (governed by the 1901 law), so there are no profits or losses; the budget must remain balanced. This makes a difference compared to a private facility that cuts corners everywhere to save a few pennies, often at the expense of the residents.
I find the setting magnificent, and it's also very well maintained.
It might not sound like much, but it feels less like being in a medical setting when you visit your loved ones.
I would also like to thank Ms. Fontaine, Ms. Lalos, and Ms. Marinovic, as well as Ms. Céline and all the nursing staff for their availability, professionalism, and kindness towards us.
Thank you to the entire team at the Maison Russe for welcoming us and helping us through these difficult times.
O.B.
An establishment that lives up to its excellent reputation.
I've had the opportunity to go there frequently to visit my uncle. The welcome is very warm, the rooms are spacious, in a very well-maintained setting, and the food is excellent.
My uncle, who is slightly disabled, was taken for walks in the park in his wheelchair.
Far from the usual clichés, this nursing home is highly recommended.
Thank you to the Russian House and its staff!
My mother, who has been there for nine months, appreciates the warm atmosphere and feels safe. I share this feeling, and it has given us a peaceful relationship, free from everyday worries. Our recent outings to the museum and restaurant were very successful.
