We visited the facility to discuss the possibility of my father being admitted. He wasn't accepted for medical reasons, but we received a very warm welcome and were able to speak with the management. The care and activities offered are comprehensive, visiting hours are flexible, and the environment is very pleasant (both the rooms and common areas; families can have lunch with their loved one). If needed, La Valois is part of the nursing home network and should definitely be contacted.
Your response is just like your advertising brochures. Your statements are pure propaganda, while mine simply reflect terribly painful moments in my life. I want to make it clear that the opinion published here is not based solely on my own experience.
- You say your menus are developed by a dietician. Thank goodness! I believe that's the case everywhere (and at DOMUS, the cost is negligible, as the menus are the same for all of France). But when residents, who otherwise have a good appetite, lose weight upon arrival and are prescribed high-protein supplements (reimbursed by Social Security), isn't that a sign of insufficient nutrition? Admit it, it's cause for concern.
You add that you use fresh produce. Judging by the contents of the plates, the snacks… it's not apparent. As for the texture of the meals, adapted to each individual, once again I say, "Thank goodness!" The opposite would be criminal. The fact remains that the menus are indeed identical for everyone, that the resident suffers from hypertension, diabetes, acid reflux… And in your kitchens, it's often forgotten that most of them have a weakened and fragile digestive system!
In short, whatever you say, I've heard many residents complain about the contents of their plates.
- Yes, incontinence products are chosen individually. But the most protective ones have disappeared from your purchasing department. And the most vulnerable residents wear the same product from morning till night!
- No, your medical team does not work closely with families and primary care physicians. Your coordinating physician is only present two days a week, mainly devoted to administrative tasks. Many residents do not have a primary care physician, even several months after their arrival. And when they are clearly unwell, they have to develop a high fever or a critically low oxygen level before receiving a medical consultation.
With the exception of the psychologist, the medical team at the VALOIS Residence often demonstrates incompetence (the "failure to thrive" syndrome is a convenient excuse) and ultimately contempt. They are sorely lacking in empathy, even when delivering the worst possible news!
- To all this, we can add the poor maintenance of the premises, the lack of heating in some rooms, windows with faulty seals, many rooms and common areas that have never been renovated, a very questionable level of cleanliness, mattresses that are sometimes narrower than the bed frames, completely unsuitable plastic shower chairs, or even no chairs at all… We could also mention the constant turnover of directors, assistant directors, cooks, physiotherapists…
- In conclusion, I no longer need to discuss this with you (it's far too late). All that remains for me is to sound the alarm:
The price of accommodation is unfortunately no guarantee of quality. At the VALOIS residence, the financial sacrifice of the residents and their families unfortunately only benefits the leaders of the DOMUS group.

A big thank you to the entire staff for their welcome and kindness. We had a wonderful day celebrating my mother-in-law's 77th birthday. A special thank you to Victoria, Aicha, and Charibane for their kindness and kindness. A caring team and a warm and peaceful space! A special mention to the kitchen for this delicious meal!
All the best to all :)
