Some time ago, a friend and I witnessed an extremely shocking situation in front of this nursing home. While passing by the facility one evening, we saw an elderly person lying alone on the floor in complete darkness. Panicked, we immediately tried to alert the staff by banging on the office window (located just to the left of the entrance), shouting, and gesturing wildly to signal the urgency. The person in the office looked at us but didn't leave their desk or react at any point, despite our repeated attempts to contact them. They simply looked away and continued working on their computer. After a long while, another employee thankfully came out the door. We were able to alert her, and she took charge of the situation. Without this employee, what would have happened? What if this elderly person had suffered a cardiac arrest? This situation deeply shocked us and, in our opinion, constitutes a failure to assist a person in danger. I sincerely hope the elderly person is doing well. If any family member reads this and needs to provide information, I am available. I hope an investigation will be conducted. (To remain consistent with the guidelines of this notice, I will not describe this person, but a report will be filed with the Regional Health Agency (ARS) shortly, as this situation is truly appalling.)
